About the Organization
Leadership Public Schools (LPS) is a network of urban charter senior high schools in the East Bay. Our mission is to create educational equity by empowering students for college, career, and community leadership. Located in Richmond, Oakland and Hayward, more than 80% of our students are Latinx or African American, 87% will be first to graduate college and 88% come are from low-income families.
About the position
Trainees participating in the Advanced Practicum Training Program have the opportunity to provide individual, group, family and couple's therapy services to high school age student and their family within the school setting. Under the direct supervision of the training director, trainee's will get in depth training in navigating the school, home and community system and address barriers to learning in an effort to support the LPS student's personal, academic and mental health goals. Advanced practicum students will acquire skills to interact with other professionals to effectively collaborate with school faculty, staff and administrators.
Trainees will participate in at least one hour of individual supervision per week with a licensed clinical psychologist and 1.5 hours of group supervision and biweekly (2x a month) seminars designed to support the trainee's personal and professional development. Trainees will be expected to carry a caseload of 7-10 students and be at the school site for 24 hours/week.
